Cyber-physical systems
The interplay of hardware, data and decisions.

Our research focuses on cyber-physical systems that integrate computational and physical components to create more efficient and sustainable energy solutions. We work on advanced sensing, data analytics, and control systems for smart buildings, energy grids, and urban infrastructure.
Smart Buildings
Our work in sustainable demand side management (S-DSM) explores how buildings can intelligently respond to grid needs while maintaining occupant comfort. We collaborate with the NEST collaboration to implement and validate our solutions in real-world settings.
Energy Systems Integration
We develop methods to optimize the integration of distributed energy resources, storage systems, and flexible loads within cyber-physical energy systems. Our approach combines machine learning, optimization, and control theory to maximize efficiency and renewable energy utilization.
